“You want to work so hard that you maximize your chances of getting lucky”
This is a saying I’ve heard from many successful leaders. Basically, the harder you work, the more you put yourself in a position to capitalize on the opportunities around you.
A simple concept, but a lot harder to stick with, especially when you don’t see results right away.
Even more so, it’s a lot harder when you are the “6th man on a basketball team,” and not a starter. Putting in the hard work when you may not have the spotlight is tough, and gets even tougher when things don’t go your way.
We are hard-wired to look for instant gratification, but if we are to truly succeed long term, we need to get comfortable by putting in the work and believing that good things will happen. If you’re looking for some motivation through a powerful story, then this week’s episode with Devon McDonald is for you!
